Explain why you think MySpace.com can be good or bad, and give details & examples please.

yeah the news like to give myspace a bad rap for all the child predators and whatnot. thats all fair and good but honestly, myspace has a lotta good points too. i met my fiancee on myspace back in december. shes from the philippines. id never been there or had any inclination to go before meeting her. we talked for a few months, got closer and then eventually i traveled there to meet her in person. now were getting married in november and im the happiest ive ever been. its easy to say myspace is evil, that only child predators or pedophiles go there but nothings perfect in in most cases, it was the parents neglect that lead to these kids being approached. dont blame the site, blame the ppl who shoulda been watchin their kids more closely. im not sure if i would have ever met my girl any other way cuz i know id never go to the philippines. i have myspace to thank for bringing us together

I think myspace.com is a good thing. I use it to keep in touch with friends, some bands and singers. Sometimes that is the only way most people can keep in touch with everyone at once. I can see why it is bad also. Younger kids under 18 use it to mess around and then they meet people and such and I see how that causes many problems. But yet there are the sickos also on myspace.com that just want to get at someone such as a child under 18 for sexual pleasure which is wrong. Maybe if parents kept better tabs on what their kids under 18 did online there wouldn't be so many problems related to abductions and such where they say they're going ot meet a friend but they really aren't and they go off and meet someone they think is their age from online.

I like it too keep in touch with friends who live far away and people from highscool. I only use it for that, unlike some people who have ike 15 million friends. But its cool though. Now they have a rule for kids underage 15 if they set up a profile then it automaticall goes private and the only way you can see their profile is if you know their first and last name. I guess its good to limit older people from targeting younger people. But its not up to myspace to be in charge of who you talk to and who u meet.

I'm 25 and think it is good because I can keep in touch with my friends from home since I don't live there anymore, and bad because little kids are able to use it for worse stuff, you know talking about sex, learning about drugs, when they are just kids. Also I get to locate people that I haven't talked to in a long time. It's pretty cool

I love myspace bc it is an easy convenient way for me to keep up with friends and family w/o having to do the whole email thing. You can also make profile which say alot about ones' personality. I am a myspace fanatic!!!

It's good for networking for example if your in the type of buisness where you need to try and make contacts. For dating you have to be really carefull I have met some from myspace and there profiles were a total bs.

well i like the whole concept of what the creator tom was tryin 2 do but the perves on there really freak me out i had 1 for a really long time but my parents made me delete it & later i found out that it was a really good thing cuz some1 had stalked me & my picture on there myspace & i think along with a few other people

i think its good i have one it good if u kno how 2 use it without talking 2 total strangers like by making it private so that it is onl 4 ur friends but it can b bad if u dont do that it is also bad if u get totaly obssesed about it like u have no life away from it...that can b a problem but i mainly think its good cause u can like make ur own page and talk 2 ur friends its pretty cool

I hate myspace. Its kinda like starbucks, you cannot look anywhere or listen to any radio station in any town without hearing myspace seemingly in every sentence. Just like starbuks on every corner and in the parking lots on those corners. GRRR
