Karma (Sanskrit: कर्म from the root kṛ, "to do", [meaning deed] meaning action, effect, destiny) is a term that comprises the entire cycle of cause and effect. Karma is a sum of all that an individual has done, is currently doing and will do. The effects of all deeds actively create past, present and future experiences, thus making one responsible for one's own life, and the pain in others. In religions that incorporate reincarnation, karma extends through one's present life and all past and future lives as well.

"Karma is a word. A way of saying: 'what I am here to do' ."
-The Matrix-Revolution

Karma implies that we have duties and obligations to fulfill in our life, that we are not necessarily consciously aware of. Wrongs that we have committed that must be set right. Wrongs that we have received that must be forgiven. Obstacles along the path of our inner growth process that must be overcome in order to progress in the development of our higher self.

Karma is neither good nor bad, in the same way that a grocery list is neither good nor bad. It is erroneous to do something for the sake of "good karma". When we do a kind deed in order to acquire "good karma", we do the deed for selfish reasons and only emphasize our responsibility to be selflessly kind to others as another important item on our karmic "grocery list"

Karma was a really nice waitress I once met. Evidently my own Karma wasn't instant, which is why I never saw her again.

in a nut shell... what goes around comes around. Some people believe that if you are bad in your current life, you will pay for your bad deeds in your next life, but thats only if youbelieve in reincarnation.... it also just means that if you do something or behave in a way that is "bad" or "wrong" that you'll somehow pay for it. Kinda like calling someone a bad name then walking away and falling on your face...poetic justice some people say...you did somethng wrong and you were punnished for it in some way
