In discussion about the situation, I have heard people say that Muslims will utlitmately only be happy when Israel is gone and no Christians or Jews live in that area? This is only an effort to understand--If Muslims feel they are they only people entitled to live in that geographical area, I'm trying to understand how and why?

Good question! Israelis have been aggressive, and yes brutal with their occupation of Palestinian territory as well as in Lebanon. so that any peace is no more than an interval, then fight another day. After 50+ years of war it is a way of life, and both sides are suspect of any agreement. Perhaps if they were to defeat Israelis they could then find a way of finding peace. It would be brutal I'm sure, and not likely to happen. Muslims view the area as their land, and the infidels only want to take their oil with no respect for their faith, customs, or them. Israel has given up the Golan Heights and so now both Syria and Lebanon lay claim to the region. Well so it goes on and on.

I'm not sure where did you get that idea from, but you say you wanna understand, so I'm going to try and help you,i have few Friends from there and we talk about what is going on there the whole time, and let me tell you something,its not even a religious problem, you might didn't mean to make sound like that, but that's how it looked like, they never said they don't want a christian to live there or even Jewish, christian live every where in Middle east.they never had problem with christian,and it never been a religious problem there between Muslim and christian and even Jewish , its more about political thing, i know the media can be deceiving, because I'm from Italy, and i been to some countries in Middle east, and i could see so much differences on what we have on TV in here (Roma) and what they have, so i guess that why we have this very wrong idea about what is going on there .

No check out the BBC news and see what the Iranian president has to say about Israel. They will all be happy when they have annihilated all Jewish people, Atheist people, Christian people and all are Muslim. They are trying to reform the world to their way of thinking. Ready to go back a thousand years because when they are done with Israel they will start on the states, and other countries.

Most of Palestinians are not Muslims, but christians. Jesus was born there at Bethlehem, West Bank.
What the TV sometimes forgets to tell is that Lebanon is a country where Christians and Muslims live together peaceably – Lebanon is the only Arab country with a Christian (Maronite Catholic) president.

More than 500,000 people have fled their homes in southern Lebanon to escape the violence.

Sleeping on classroom floors, they don’t have enough food, water, milk for their kids, even soap – most abandoned their farms with only the clothes on their backs.

People always want what they can't have - standards in living have increased unrecognisably since the second world war, yet no greater percentage of people are happy. So it's unlikely they will ever be happy. However, the Palestinians could certainly be treated far better by Israel than they are now, which is like criminals and second class citizens.

They wont be happy until Israel is destroyed and even then they will probably try to get the rest of the world to either convert to islam or live by the rules of islam.... The event about the muhammed cartoons in feb indicates that....

please learn and study deeply the history way before jerusalem was found... then you will understand. for your info, inthe year of sometimes way back 1600 year ago.... the muslims, the christians, the jews and the majusi had lived together in the cities happily until the barbaric european (known as gauls)invaded the city as crusaders.
