remember back along time ago there use to be a restraunt chain called Coon's Chicken and it was changed due to the racist name? But did they change the name to Popeyes or what?

Coon Chicken Inns all closed in the 1950's.

No, Popeyes was originally started in Arabi, Louisiana. The person that owned the francise, Al Copeland, later sold it when he tried to get too big and bought Churchs Chicken.

Originally he was going to have a donut chain, but changed it to chicken. As for the name, his first wife came up with the name Popeye.

Sambo's had s better menu than Dennys, I have never heard of Coons Chickin

It could of because before Denny's was Denny's it used to be called Sambo's and the reason they had change the name because it offended the black people

To "Bob": Sorry Bob, you are so wrong. When Sambo's changed their name, they called themselves "Seasons". They sold many of their restaurants and Denny's bought them.

Denny's was never Sambo's.
