The Dalai Lama, in an interview, once advised that when you are afraid to do something you should ask yourself if it is a wholesome action. Then he says if you find that it is a wholesome action, meaning not harmful to yourself or anyone else, then you should not be afraid to do it. Simplistic as this may sound, it has helped me to get over my fear at times.

overcoming fear is a lot about the realizatin that fear itself does not make us safe. fear is living outside of the now. the threat of something ahead of us that we do not want. " i do not like what might happen in the future" its identification with time and ~ identification with time is ego, and ego is the eternally unsolvable problem or problems that keep us stuck in a place other than the now. it is unconciousness. m inimizing that in our own lives means disidentifying with time. When we do this, we can affect all human conciouness. that is where the real power is.

hypnosis. no um. facing it? I really hate snakes yet I for some reason like to watch snake shows when the are on Animal Planet. It's either because I like to be scared or I am curious about the things that scare me. We only really fear things we don't understand
