NO. It's not good at all. There is no reason to hit a child, there are other ways of discipline. There might be times when you want to hit a child, but it is not appropriate practice for a teacher to harm a child in any way.

I don't think corporal punishment is good for anyone for any reason. Why do some adults think it is OK to physically assault a child when if done to adult would land you in prison?
My son has never been hit and he is one of the best behaved, well-respected students. He is not a "momma's boy", he does play around at the correct time, he is well-like by his peers and adults alike. It isn't necessary to ever hit a child.

Corporal punishment should be carried out by the parents if anyone. At school, not a good idea. At home, the decision is up to the parents.

my momma beat my azz...and I turned out fine....and I got paddlings in school and I tell you what what the teacher said we did...and I work at a school that doesn't use it...however I have parents who will write a letter to the school board giving the teacher permission to do so and those are the kids that have higher grades and stay out of trouble...
