i need a lift that can at least pickup 1000lbs. i am going to use it for 4-wheeler work so i dont have to bend as much for i have 2 steel rods and 8 screws in my back

Go to any of the equipment rental shops in your area. Take a very good look at a scissor lift and how they are built. Then you can decide if what you want to do is reasonable. For a 3 foot lift of 70 pounds, just pick it up and put it in place. Get a friend to help if it is too much for you.
