You mentioned God, so I'm going to tell you this from a Christian perspective. I hope you don't mind. There is no reason to be afraid of the future, because all that the future will bring is certain death. No matter what, we will all die. Why fear death? It will come whether we're ready or not...so perhaps we should just be ready. Whatever happens with our country, our government, the world...it's all fleeting. It's only a second in the scope of things...like eternity. A drop in the ocean.
So, whatever happens here, doesn't really matter. All we need to do is take care of the earth, and each other as best we can, and prepare for death.
Why fear death? It's not an end, but a beginning.

I think we have a lot to be afraid of. Mostly because our economy is going down the tube fast. I think once we realize that we made a huge mistake with our current president ( well I didnt make a mistake I voted Kerry haha) but I think we will eventually have a president who knows what he/she is doing and will actually fight for our country and make sure that we have better relations with foreign countries and we make sure that our country has a good economy and can stop and prevent some of the future disasters to come. All we need is someone who has a good head on their shoulders and as of now...that isnt President Bush.

Fear what?
All this crap has been going on for centuries. Our media is just quicker to get it to our fearful ears. If you live on fear you will die alone. Start living. Don't take anything for granted. Be thankful for everything. Stop and smell the roses. Slow down and enjoy life. Stop watching the news for a couple of days and bring yourself back to earth. It's probably fairly peaceful where you are at right now. Enjoy the moment. Take a walk in the woods and listen to Mother Nature.
Read Psalm 116. Eat some ice cream. Read a good entertaining book. Meditate on something pleasant. Flush your brain of fear and start to live. Spread the message of fearlessness. Be cool.
Shalom,

Those who do not learn from history are condemned to repeat it.
It is very scary that the current American administration can not even learn from events that took 5 years ago( 9/11)
Or even from the war on Iraq.
I hope the next administration and the new congress will help fix things a bit, otherwise.....

Fear does not make you safe. If you loosen your attachment to time, you realize that the past and future do not exist and all that we have is this beautiful moment of one-ness with being. A shift in human conciousness is happening. when you are at one with the now, the very essence of who you are beyond name and form arises and acts through you and you affect the conciousness of all humanity. Fear not.

-shrug- yeah, the future is kinda scary to think about. But that's always the case, no matter what the conditions. You can't dwell on it because there's nothing you can do about it.
