They usually do that to show that the batteries are running low. Put new batteries in and it should stop.

If it Hardwired to you house electric system, GET A ELECTRICIAN THERE! It is shorting out and could cause a FIRE.
But, do check first, because most smoke detector chirp when they are Battery Operated and that is to let the owner know it is time to changed the Battery.
Check that first, then if it is HARDWIRE, Call someone in to fix the wiring.

It needs a new battery. Mine do the same thing. "Electronic" or not, they all need batteries.
