I would'nt have thought so as most criminal convictions are spent after a certain time and countries like the USA and Australia who have tight visa controls let in people with past convictions provided they are declared as long as it's not something really serious such as murder or terrorism but lesser offences are generally overlooked,but if you are unsure contact the Canadian embassy.

What the hell would they be worried about that for? Canada has the best weed around! Who the heck needs beer when you got a blunt? I think they will be ok.
