Im surprised this hasnt been asked yet. Do you already have an external hard drive. And if so, do you really need to spend $800.00 for 1000Gb. I have a Lacie 600Gb and i havent even put a dent in it yet. Half the t.v. shows on bearshare probably come from my hard drive :) If you really need a Tb of Storage, than i suggest you look at Tiger Direct. they have extremly fast shipping, even to here in Iraq, and i have put the Lacie through one of the toughest environments on the planet, and it works just ask good as the day i bought it. good luck

I think that you really want to know about external hard drives, like these:
The Airlink 101, case, without any drive, so you can load it with your favorite HUGE drive! Copmes with PSU, firewire and USB 60" cables, a small phillips screwriver tool, and the Cd for Microsoft!
Linux and Macs all see all drives, automatically... Another Microsoft problem...
http://www.airlink101.com/products/aen35wc.html I paid $29.95 locally for each of my three. Put 80 Gb drives in them, that cost $46, each, on sale. http://pricewatch.com
That box gives me USB2.0, Firewire 400. Plenty fast for the Internet, most computers I run (Ultra scsi 320!) in my boxes!
Then, I formatted one for Linux ext3, one for MAC hfs+, and one I split partitioned for those, plus a small NTFS that all can read, for going on the road...
and, if you really love NO vrus, NO hackers, LOTS of gaming: get this: http://pclinuxos.com and, then, http://transgaming.org/gamesdb/
