I think much would depend on whether they were humanoid in shape and features, as to how easily we would accept their presence here i.e. whether we could empathise with them or not,

To be optimistic, there is much we could learn from each other, To be pessimistic, it only takes one idiot, one trigger-happy redneck, fulminating about illegal aliens to kill one of them and for a war to be started. A war we would almost certainly lose. If they have the more advanced technology so as to be able to get themselves here, we can reasonably assume their weaponry is far superior, too.

It would be most hard on Americans who can do not tolerate people from other countries! Of course politics will change and the power structure woud be altered. If they come here and are able to live, theire will be technological changes and additions. Scientific knowledge would expand. Other than that, it depends on what or who they are.

There have been some great writings on the subject.
Most scientists actually believe that if other worldly
beings came to Earth, it would be for hostile
purposes. Otherwise, they would take much time to
slowly build communication and dialogue so as to
not cause misunderstandings and conflict.

trust me. if there are different wise existence they gained't be something like us. they does no longer stay an identical as us, and they could really look no longer something like us. you spot extraterrestrial beings in Media that look Humanoid because a target market will merely experience thoughts for people. it is a key trick in sci-fi. even if, actually, extraterrestrial beings ought to look rather diverse. Ever considered conflict la? The extraterrestrial beings in that action picture were life like because they did not resemble people in any respect. sure, extraterrestrial beings exist, sure there are different wise existence varieties in the Universe, do they act like us, no. And take in the rather hugeness of the Universe, we can probable under no circumstances make contact with them

Theories about it:
- Predator species: they will eat all the live beings and continue with the next planet.
- Benign Social species: they will teach us how to live better, with justice, solidarity, responsibility and accountability.
- Amoral Social species: they will use the current powerful people against the rest of the world and will take advantage of our resources to satisfy their own needs.
For me, the three options are equiprobable. Which do you like?

I'd be dead. So would you. The most likely first contact will be in the form of a relativistic bombardment.

If they were stronger and more advnaced, and I would assume they would be......You'd probably have mass panic and chaos for a while as billions of people re-examined their core beliefs and religous values. Eventually the reality would sink in, and you'd have pretty much business as usual, but for a while it would be chaos.

1. they'd be appalled at the utter lack of respect for our creator.
2. they'd laugh themselves hysterical at us over the global warming myth.
3. then they'd leave and continue looking elsewhere for intelligent life.
Then mankind would resume their search for "evidence" on global warming, business as usual otherwise.
