Tried and tried with my first husband, but he was unwilling to go for fertility testing (too manly to suspect it might be him, I suppose.) After we split and I met another man I was over 30 and we both really wanted kids, so he got tested first (now he wants a t-shirt that says, "14 Million served") so we knew it wasn't him.

First thing was ultrasounds to look at my uterus and fallopian tubes - some endometriosis was detected, so they tried the non-invasive treatment first: they induced menopause by injecting pellets into my abdomen each month for 3 months. When this was not effective, the Dr. did a laser laparascopy and found lots of scar tissue (endometriosis) in and outside the uterus, so he booked me in for another procedure to remove it. Still no luck!

Finally we got on the fertility drugs - self injections in the abdomen every evening and blood tests and ultrasounds every morning during the fertility period. When the Drs. thought we were at our most fertile point, I came in for Intra-uterine insemination (IUI) where they cleaned and washed hubby's sperm and inserted it through the cervix. First time: Nothing. Second time: a fetus developed a bit, but never gained a heartbeat and had to be removed by a D&C. We were then told to take some time off as my body needed a rest.

About 17 weeks later I had still not had a period, so my husband handed me a preg test he had picked up. BINGO!!! we are pregnant, all by ourselves, and I was due 13 days ago! Judging from the ultrasounds I've had he will be a completely normal baby, about 8 pounds, if he ever decides to come out! (Actually I'm getting induced tomorrow.)

So the endometriosis was the cause of our infertility, and after we started getting medical assistance it was about three years before we made it. But counting my first marriage, I was trying for 12 years. IF you want more details I'm at lacticrat@yahoo.com. Good luck!

I stopped taking birth control in 1995. Had a molar pregnancy later that year.... then nothing... until I began taking Clomid in 2003. Got pregnant in August of 2003, had a beautiful healthy boy in May 2004. TTC # 2 since November 2005. Just started Clomid again this cycle - hoping it does the trick for us again.

I was told that I would never have any kids 4 years ago and I came to grips with it about 2 years after that. Then I started dieting, exercising and cleaning out my system with herbs and surprise, surprise, surprise I have a 4 month old now. Colon cleasing, Liver and Kidney cleanse products really help.

It took my husband and I over 2yrs to get pregnant. After we got married we tried VERY hard and nothing... it was so frusterating. Finally my husband said lets stop trying so hard and let nature take its course. Believe me, that was not easy but we went on with our lives and that is when I got pregnant. Im now 16 weeks along!! Were so excited!!!
Good luck to you, keep your head up
