Use a cigarette, or a hot surface on a car. Use it to heat up the darned itchy thing, careful not to blister or burn yourself. The heat sensation will build up to a point, then go away. Remove the heat source. The itch goes away with the heat feeling and doesn't come back. It ALWAYS works for me. I tried it out of desperation while fishing once. I was amazed at how well it worked, tried it again on another bite, same result. I don't waste money and time on the bogus lotions anymore. It sure beats the itch.

Rubbing Alcohol takes the itch away for me or a nice hot shower. I also take the allergy medication Benadryl when I go to bed at night so I don't wake up itchy.

use about 1 tsp. of baking soda with a few drops of water, mix into a paste and apply to bite. This also works for the chicken pox and other itchy skin problems.
