Carolina was the best team in the regular season and the best team in the postseason. Championship teams answer the bell and the Hurricanes repeatedly did that. For those Oilers fans who say that Roloson's injury cost them the Cup, I'd like to know which game the Oil would have won that Markkanen lost. As for Buffalo, a championship team would have closed the deal in Game 7...they failed.

Being an Oilers fan, I think the Oilers should have taken it home, but, even though I was disappointed, I wasn't 'really' disappointed. Both teams played really hard. Hands down, I believe that if Roloson had been able to finish, Edmonton would have won. But the Hurricanes had lots of good players. It's always nice to see rookies like Cam Ward make the difference. They fought hard, and Edmonton proved they wanted it by gettiing to the seventh game when they were down 3-1 in the series. I look forward to next season!:)

well we all know that if Williams didn't take out Koivu from the Habs the Hurricanes wouldn't be in the finals. and if Roloson didn't get hurt the Oilers would be Stanley Cup Champs.
Williams didn't even get called on the high stick on Koivu, and Koivu was bleeding like hell, and the front office didn't even look at it and Koivu career could be over. and Williams high sticked 3 other Montreal Canadien players in the series, Markov, Rivet and Souray and you know Koivu too, and only 1 only 1 time the ref blew the whistle and gave him a penalty on the high stick on Rivet so the Hurricanes where lucky as hell and didn't deserve the cup.

Well the Oilers with Roloson had a way better chance and Carolina should of never made it through Buffalo. They won but they caught all the lucky breaks they needed along the way. So my answer is neither team. A healthy Buffalo team wins the cup.

I was rooting for the Oilers. I grew up in Sherwood Park, Alberta. I now live in New Orleans. Most people here don't care about Hockey. My husbands ex is from North Carolina so I didn't want then to win :) But the goalie for the Hurricanes, Cam Ward is a Sherwood Park boy, so it softened the blow.

Being Canadian, I was hoping for the Oilers to bring the cup back home! It's been 13 years I think since a Canadian team last had it (Montreal Canadiens 1993). I went to the parade when the Habs brought it home and wow, what a feeling it was! Hopefully, a Canadian team will bring it back home soon! It sucks to see so many teams and players go to the US where the money is.

Carolina had the determination and leadership necessary to win the Stanley Cup. Over the course of the season, Carolina suffered their share of injuries as much as any other team (Cole, Weight, Vasicek, A. Ward...just to name a few). Some fans should cease with the hypothetical scenarios, accept that their team lost, and prepare themselves for the 06-07 NHL season.

Edmonton Oilers, I just hate the Hurricanes I don't understand how a professionnal hockey team could end up there, where people don't even know what a puck is.
