After 5 years of leaving services, I have been served summons in my personal name by court to appear as witness in a dispute of two outside parties. No because you were summoned. You might want to consider pleading the fifth.

I can't answer without more facts. Is this in the US? If so, you are likely outside the area where that court has jurisdiction - example - if you live in Texas, a court in California does not have jurisdiction over you. Different rules on a federal case though. Call the lawyer for the other side.
