You could make an original video & put it up on youtubes.com. Then you could write about it in blogs & tell all your friends about it & send copies to CNN so maybe you'll get invited to a Larry King interview. That's one way you could do it...

There are many ways to become famous, and most of them have nothing to do with the entertainment industry. However, since your question focused on Hollywood, I assume that making movies is what you want to do. Frankly, if that's your aim, you can't stay in Florida -- you need to move. I suggest that you switch gears from movies to TV and move to NYC; there are lots of parts for TV extras and commercials there, and _nobody_ starts out in leading roles (you'd be amazed at the commercials that some people who are now A-list celebs have taken). Once you've gotten some commercials under your belt, you can get your SAG card (Screen Actors' Guild, the union that most TV and film actors are members of). With a SAG card you can get speaking roles in feature films or regular roles in TV series -- and without it you won't get jack. Best bet: find someone who is already in SAG and get that person to sponsor you.

If you want it badly enough, you have to move to L.A. or New York! An agent is the least of your concerns! Make a decision to move. Find an acting school, register for acting classes in NYC or Los Angeles. You need years of of acting classes, and years of performing.

I've often asked myself the same question!
Do what Katie Holmes did. No, not the Tom Cruise fiasco! When she heard about a little show being put together called (oh, you might have heard about it - lol) Dawson's Creek she sent in her tape because she lived so far away from the action.
If it worked for her...

If you have a talent try to master it. Enroll in a dramaa school, music school, or any school that your abilities can improve. There are many good schools to get you ready for careers in acting, dancing, singing and so on. Very few people get noticed without any special talents except their beauty.

Hey! You're not the only one looking to get famous - that's the problem. There's so much competition out there. It's a truism of the industry that I hate, but it's the hard truth - If you're a woman and you're not pretty, you won't make it in Hollywood. Period.
Some older male actors can get away with being less-than-gorgeous because they're considered to be talented. Unfortunately, the same doesn't hold true for women. Even older actresses that are considered talented are still lauded for the way they look and would find themselves out of work in a hurry if their appearance was sub-par. It's a sexist double-standard, but it's the reality. I'm not sure what you and your sister look like, but that's probably your starting point. Do you have the looks to compare with the women of the silver screen?
Then, after that, in a lot of cases, it takes education. Although there are plenty of actors who never attended film or drama school, many of those who have attended have credited their success to them. Acting school helps you face the realities of showbiz - whether it's theatre, movies, TV, radio... It's hard work. Because it's so competitive, you have to be willing to bust your ***. If you won't, there's someone standing right behind you in line for that part who will. Even actors who are today so famous that they get begged to take certain roles once had to start at the bottom of the ladder like everybody else. Some are born priveliged (Paris Hilton, Shiloh Nouvel Pitt?), but there are very few of those. School also helps you establish connections with classmates and colleagues who may be able to help you find a role later through networking.
Agents are something to think about once you've gotten some experience under your belt and you begin to gain attention. An agent can broker deals for you and make sure you're being treated fairly. They can also find new roles for you, but they can't work with nothing. It's up to you to be at the top of your game and show people what you can do.
The sad truth is that there are far more aspiring actors than there are actual actors. If all you want out of this ride is fame and fortune, there are easier ways to get it. Acting has to be something you love or you'll give it up too easily. If you had to spend ten years working the amateur theatre circuit, or doing kids' plays in elementary schools, would you do it? If that was what it took to get noticed?
Do you understand what it would be like to be famous? Some people deal really well with it and you may be someone like that, who would absolutely adore it, but before you seriously wish for it, be careful what you're wishing for. Everything you do would become a matter of public record. Every personal choice you make in your life would come under scrutiny. And although no one would tell you how to live your life, you would certainly get strong "suggestions" from your agent, your publicist, etc. In other words, if you're famous, and you want to stay famous, you have to please the people that got you there. You become the product being sold. You must be sure not to alienate or offend your fans. You must be sure to always look your best and keep your body toned. You must be willing to give up your time and say goodbye to any kind of stability in your schedule. You must learn to make do with very little "me" time.
My advice is that if you love it, stick with it. It may or may not pay off "big" in the end, but if you truly do love it, it won't matter to you. It will be hard work. The road to the top is probably much steeper than either of us really realize. That's why so few make it. But it's not impossible to get there, just take it one step at a time. Audition for local productions and/or advertisements. Start your own troupe. Look into film and drama schools in your area. Look into joining guilds and professional organizations. Study up on it. Network with other aspiring actors like yourself and compare methods and news. Work as a team with your sister to get more accomplished.
And remember to stay positive and keep trying. A lot of people in the entertainment industry had to spend many years working very hard before they got their chance. Nothing in this world comes easy, so be prepared to give it everything you've got if you really want it.

It usually helps to know somebody lots of talent over looked because of that. For me dancing on table top lamp shade on head they all noticed and no one will forget. Keep hoping they will, but it never paid much but people keep wanting to buy me drinks. Wonder why that is?

Do something great. Record yourself doing something and put it online. If you really have talent, you will be noticed, otherwise, its a waste of time.
