Are you trying to give your daughter a complex for the rest of her life? She's 12! Let nature take its course. It'll work out fine. And if you want her to become more active, don't TELL her so. Set an example by becoming more active yourself (if that's an issue). I grew up with a guy that was chubby around age 12, but now he's perfectly fine. Don't worry.

A 12 year and 6 month old (female) child who is 110.0 pounds and 4 feet and 11 inches tall, has a body mass index of 22.3, which is at the 85.5th percentile and is considered to mean that your child is at risk of becoming overweight.
^^^ That's from the site below. I had to guess with how many months she is, but that's probably accurate.

No,kids are getting bigger way faster than we were back in the day.My niece is 14 wears a size 9/10 in women's a size 8 shoe and weighs 137lbs.She is really thick in the right places so it depends on how your daughter is built. She's hit puberty and things will soon even out on her if they haven't already.

According to the BMI charts that I have found, she is in the "normal" rage. So, I wouldn't worry about her being "fat". Just keep monitoring her caloric intake and her physical activities. That is all that you can do right now. Her body is growing and changing and is getting itself ready for puberty if it hasn't already started.
BTW, her BMI is 22 and anything over 25 is overweight and anything over 35 is obese. She is healthy.
the last link that is posted below, is a BMI calculator specifically for children and teens

Don't make her feel bad about it or anything, sounds like she's overweight. I guess you can just cook healthier foods in the house, buy less snacks so that she is eating healthy, and maybe take her to do something outdoors. You guys could go hiking or something, or sign her up for dance classes... wherever HER interests lie.

a little but why are you worring about that now she will grow up and become better, if you're really worried about her weight take her to a dr. and get her body/fat compesition measuered, if she's over 20%, then maybe you should stop buying soda, chips, Mc'yD's and other bad stuff for her, start programing her into likeing nutrionous foods like salads and chicken!

yes- I wouldnt say fat but def overweight... you have to take muscle mass into account too so if she's athletic may be not... every year at school they should do a fat test where the measure the amount of fat on the back of her arm... you should ask the shcool nurse

Its all about BMI. As long as she is eating healthfully and you are giving her confidence, thats really important. Maybe a nurse can help you regarding her health and guide you in terms of diet and fitness?
You sound like a good mum, keep up the goodworkx
