I am asking this question because today Israel bombed a village at 1AM, killing 50 people, most of them children.

A UN observer said on BBC Word Service: These were deliberately targeted. Hizbollah rockets are on trucks and fired from fields, not from buildings. The pattern is the same every day. Hizbollah come, fire their rockets and go away. Two hours later israeli planes come and destroy the nearest village.

I am watching filled with digust for Bush and Blair, full acccomplices to this genocide in Lebanon (only 3 1/2 million people), refusing to call for a cease fire and making excuses, offensive to any one's intelligence. Muslims are human beings also.

Are you doing anything to stop this wholesale butchery?
Even a question or answer on these pages will help.

I know what you mean!!!

Two soldiers doesnt equal destroying Lebanon's economy and social life! Israelis do kill and kidnap Palestinians and Lebanese everyday! We dont see anything Happen!

Israel violates the UN Codes, no one say anything about it!

Are these Bush's steps to create a world free from terror???

I think the Israeli Army check-list includes; children, women, innocents, schools, bridges, power plants, houses, shops, more children.... and nothing yet for Hezbollah! This is insane!

We, in Kuwait, organized demonstrations. Last night at the Lebanese Embassy they were collecting donations of money, food, clothes...etc. The Amir (President) donated money, as well as many Kuwaitis, Lebanese and people living here.... but tell me this; IS THIS ENOUGH!????

The Qana incident of Yesterday, the one you mentioned is not new... History seemed to repeat itself. In 1996, Israel did the same, causing the death of more than 100 people in that same village! Again... mostly innocents....

What happened Yesterday killed around 30 babies and kids! They are unaware of what a war is... They are INNOCENTS!

Thanks for your questions... I really appreciated it :)

What Israel is doing by killing civilians is wrong. Equally, what Hezbollah is doing, and has been doing for years killing civilians with their rockets is wrong.

Drawing comparisons with 9/11 is specious at best, and does not help an understanding of the situation and how to resolve it.

What has to happen is to get all governments in the region to take responsibility for ensuring that these armed militias, who are often more powerfull and better armed than government forces do not keep lighting the fuse.

As I said at the start, what Israel is doing is unnaceptable, but if you were an ordinary Israeli civilian and had been under constant attack for over 50 years in your own home you may well feel that there is no alternative.

If the international community and mostly Israels neighbours can gaurantee no more rocket attacks, no more suicide bombs in night clubs and on school buses, and no more kidnapped soldiers, then the Israelis will have no excuse / reason to keep doing what they are doing.

Its simple really, because I dont think that the ordinary Israeli wants war and conflict any more than you or I do. The only difference is that you and I do not have to worry about a missile which has been fired from Wales landing on the house and killing our family whilst we are at work.

Hezbollah are terrorists. They fire their rockets into Israel at random in hopes to kill as many people as possible. They do not target the Israel military. Israel targets the Hezbollah terrorists. And because all terrorists are cowards and hide among Innocent civilians, some will die.

It is unfortunate that groups like Hezbollah exist. They are the ones that cause all the problems in the world. If a cease fire would put an end to the terrorism in the world, then I'm all for it. Unfortunately, the terrorists like that because they can keep on terrorizing and not worry about being shot back at. Hezbollah will not honor a cease fire, period.

If terrorists were hiding in my neighborhood and they were bombed by someone trying to stop their terror, then I would be proud to die knowing that they too were eliminated.

You must concentrate on finding a way to stop terrorist activity without killing. But, until someone comes up with a way to do that, terrorists must be physically stopped with force. I am sorry for the civilians making this sacrifice, but they did allow a terrorist group to develop and grow in their back yards.

Why is it okay to go after Al Qaeda and not Hizbollah and Israel? Because nothing in the U.S. got blown up. Most Americans don't care about anything that doesn't happen on U.S. soil (I can't speak for Brits). Not every American feels this way, but most are completely oblivious to the world outside our borders. I agree that it's extremely wrong and unfortunate, and I don't think that more war is going to help. I am not anti-war, by the way; I'm pro-us-minding-our-own-business. The argument that a cease fire would just require us to return later is absolutely ridiculous. That's like saying, I'm just gonna go ahead and burn down my house now, because a wildfire will eventually burn it down anyway...

And how many people have the Hez rockets killed? OK?

You are disgusting. OK?

These people in Israel want to live in peace, but the Hez crazies would rather kill their own people and take money given to them and buy rockets rather than food for their poor people in Lebanon.

I am filled with disgust for you and your Hez friends...creators of this genocide. What are all those rockets doing on the border of Lebanon if not to fight a war? You talk like it is all one side. Israels are humans also.

Yes, the way to stop the genocide is to eradicate these vicious killing machines - Hezbollah.

A question of perceptions and priorities. Perhaps Lebanese law enforcement view vehicles loaded to the gills shooting rockets as celebrants ...like kids greeting the new year perhaps?! Bush and Blair can call for cease fire every minute of the day, but it's the combatants that must walk the talk.

No, Hezbollah aren't so innocent, they are using civilians as human shields, using their homes to shoot from and store weapons. Also look at all the suicide bombers that have happened over the past years inside Israel, many children have been killed for no reason. This is just horrible, on both sides, no reason for war. I believe that women should be leaders of the free world.

I agree, the israeli reaction to Hizbullah is wrong. On the other hand, how do they know it was deliberately targeted? Israel couldn't know if that building had missiles or fighters or civilians in it. Of course, they should have sent in troops to find out, not just sent bombs, but that doesn't meant they are deliberately targeting civilians.
