I go to a strict private school where we have to wear uniforms. (Yeah, I know it sucks. Especially for a skater like me. It makes us look preppy, which me and my friends hate.) The uniforms are golf shirts (white) and skirts (plaid, above knee. The skirts aren't entirely bad.) We can do some stuff with our hair, if it's not outrageous. We're not allowed to wear nail polish or make-up. (I cheat a little. I wear black eyeliner applied lightly and foundation) We can't wear jewelry either. It's basically a torture world. Me and my friends want to spice up our uniforms a bit for the first day, and we have no clue what to do! We hear our new principle is extremely harsh, so we can't do much, but does anyone have any ideas? Anything will help!

I always break the rules, but last year I got in a lot of trouble. So now I'm looking to slightly "bend" them instead of "break" them. I got a lot of detention time last year.

I forgot to add something again! I have to wear uniform shoes AND uniform socks as well! It sucks sooo bad!!!! And whoever asked if I was gothic, I'm not.

well since theres not much u can do now, u can start a petition and send it to the school board, and make sure u have enough signatures, and make a real statement and demand. say something like
"Our school gives us no room to express our individuality or creativity, how are we supposed to express our creativity in our school work when its being otherwise oppressed?" after the school board approves your statement, go for all the accessories u can find!!!

Well I would do alot with your hair and forget about the uniform. I know how you feel I hated wearing uniforms. Anyway if people are looking at your hair they wont pay much attention to your outfit.

Well, I went to a catholic school that had that same base uniform and that had many rules as well... How I survived?
-Added buttons to the uniform, with things I liked... Maybe you could add a id collar with buttons on it if you have no jacket or vest
-Hair clips, bands, add-ons(fake hair), bows, flowers on braids... You could try different cultural themes all based on your hairdo's (anime-like, japanese bun with the 2 sticks, pigtails with flowers on the sides, swiss braids with barely-there flowers... braid ribbons on your braids if made of leather you canput feathers or indian stuff on them)...
-Be creative! But tidy. If you look well put, you can get away with everything.

wow, you can't even wear make up or nail polish? that really sucks. can you wear knee high socks? do you have to wear a certain type of shoe? cuz you can find some really awesome knee high socks or even leggings at hot topic. and converse or etnies would look awesome too. good luck.

Thank god for public school. I would probably die if I had to go to private school. It sounds like there's not much you can do. Are you at least free to buy and personalize your own book bag? Because if you are, a book bag can also be a great way to express yourself. Buy pins and patches and a really cool book bag and go crazy.

well, maybe you could visit the hairdresser and have a new trendy haircut? i don't see any other way, your school is really strict. Or, get nice trainers that would compensate.

ouch. smart thing to do with the eyeliner. if i had to wear that, no makeup or jewerlery i would die. so sorry
