First you want to use bottles that are "nipple shaped" so the transition is easier for the baby. Make it a slow transition. If he's really causing you a lot of discomfort due to the teething then you'll simply have to cut him off and switch over to the bottle otherwise you'll find yourself minus one nipple! He might not like it that way but I can assure you (3 kids here) that the baby will adjust and when he's hungry he'll use the bottle.

To add to what aintgivinup79 said, use breastmilk. Just pump it if you have to.

Please do no longer provide honey to a toddler under a 300 and sixty 5 days previous. notwithstanding it extremely is uncommon, it could carry spores that reason toddler botulism, it extremely is amazingly risky for a toddler. At 6 months, your toddler acknowledges that breastfeeding is significantly better than nutrition and drink. it would be unusual for a toddler to take a bottle from his mom (or every person else) at 6 months or later. He can bypass fairly a whilst without breastfeeding although. you additionally must be attempting a cup of a few type, without or with "sippy" spout. He would or would possibly no longer settle for breastmilk in it. He ought to need water. At this age there is not any longer lots fee to juice, and that i do no longer recommend it. while you're leaving your toddler with somebody who loves him and whom you believe, he could be fed with a common quickly, a undeniable feeder spoon, or a cup. The caretaker ought to attend and notice with him and not tension the issue, yet basically supply the drink until now he starts off to get thirsty/hungry. If he's taking solids, that would nicely be offered to boot.

Here's what I do with my 7 month old.

I fill the bottle half way with milk from me,
and then fill the other half with skim milk.

It's best if they both are at room temp.
Then screw on the top of the bottle.

She just drinks it up and then she goes
inside her crib and she'll fall asleep in
a snap.

Try that for about a week, a month or so.
Then see if he or she will take just warm
skim milk.

Try a sippy cup. He is old enough. My daughter also refused to take a bottle, but started taking a sippy just fine at 5 months. Also, are you filling the bottle with breastmilk? He may take breastmilk but refuse formula. Make sure it is the right temp.

You have a smart little guy there! He knows that the best comes from you :)

You don't have to wean him off! That's like going from eating steak every day to eating unsweetened creamed corn. My baby is now cutting two top teeth but when the bottom ones came in and he tried to bite me I took him off the breast and said no firmly..after just a bit he understood and learned to nurse without biting.

Don't do that to your baby..he deserves the best :)

Don't wean your son just because he is teething! Breasmilk is the best food the first year of life. If he bites you take your breast out of his mouth and say no! very firmly it usually only takes a few times before they get the point and stop biting.

he doesn't want a bottle because he is far too young.

don't wean him. he is telling you NO MOMMY!!!!!!! you will betray him and hurt your relationship - AND - he's to young for the food.

here's how you deal with the teeth - if he accidentally bites you, remove your breast, so "Ow, that hurt mommy." and then allow him to suckle again. I don't think either of our kids bit me more than 5 times before they learned.

TEACH him, don't put him at risk of diabetes with formula. Don't ruin his happy emotional state by forcing this terrible change on him. Babies are supposed to nurse for at least two years. Believe me, they can learn to manage the teeth.

Use the bottles that have the disposable liners. They are most like the mother. Also they sell nipple guards for babies that bite.

do you use silicon or rubber nipples? the best is the playtex rubber nipple. if still doesnt work, try a sippy cup, the kind that will only release the milk if the baby sucks. this is so the baby doesnt choke on what it is that he drinking.
