and can you use your english drivers lisence in the US? how long does it take to get your drivers lisence in the states? and is it better to go to a driving school or learn in your own car with a frend? what do most people do in the states? how much does it cost? etc...

I think it is best to go to a driving school as you don't just need to learn to drive, you need to learn how to drive to pass the test.

There is no such thing as an English driving licence :) but you can use your UK driving licence in the USA.
