Why do women expect the toilet seat to be left down ?

I got the message home to my other half about leaving the toilet seat up. I took the whole thing off completely. He was not enamoured and never saw the funny side of my actions. He restored the toilet to it's rightful place and Voila! No more left up toilet seats or lids.

And why do us women complain about the toilet seat being left up well you stand and we sit. And why should little children have to put the seat down after their Daddy's been to have a pee.

A little thought boys please, instead of having your mind on football and sex whilst having a pee.

Women expect the toilet seat to be left down because it's:

1) Hygienic - bacteria, flies, bad smells, etc.
2) Practical - prevents stuff falling in the pot
3) Safe - Prevents young children playing in and putting things in the pot.
4) Aesthetic, it is bad Fen-shui to have a gaping toilet bowl.

and for all the other reasons mentioned on here, because women are guardians of the health and welfare of the family.

have u ever seen a toilet seat with out a lid on it in the shops thought u would say no , toilet seats are made with lids on them so there can b put down when the toilet is not in use , the toilet or bathroom area looks better when the seat is down, also it traps the nasty smell, and minimizes the Bacteria from becoming airborne. that's why women put it down

I expect not just the seat, but the cover as well to be put down. Otherwise, the dog will drink out of the toilet.

Why do men have to stand up to pee? You say women are lazy but men are. Men can sit down to pee but it's faster just to stand up. Women have no choice but to sit down. Besides if the toilet seat was meant to be left up it would be sold and advertised like that. It's also called having manners to put the toilet seat back down. It takes about a total of TWO seconds to put it up and back down. Also women have smaller bladders so we go more often.

Ladies and gentlemen, let's face it, it's really not hard to lift the seat up or to put the seat down when you require the toilet. Stop trying to make a petty issue out of things in order to just have a moan. Your life and your needs are your own not someone elses problem so start behaving like it and do things for yourself.

Because I'm a sexist pig who hasn't had a girlfriend for a long time. Putting down the opposite sex helps my dwindling ego, even though I crave female attention.

Oh yeah - because, surprise surprise, a toilet seat isn't the cleanest thing and women sit down to go to the loo, as far as I know.

You can't put the lid down without putting the seat down, and you should ALWAYS put the lid down.

When you flush a toilet the ensuing spray (containing urine and/or fecal matter) creates a dome which spreads approx. 6 feet - if your toilet is in the bathroom and your toothbrush is within 6 feet of an unlidded toilet you are cleaning your teeth with 'toilet water'.........put the lid down......please!

Because blokes can go 2 the toilet standing or sitting whereas women get no choice and have 2 sit so it's polite 2 leave it down and if a man chooses 2 lift it up he should put it back down again.
