as you say a real cockney can only be a cockney when there born within the sound of the bow bells the problem is the real bow bells were taken down in 1958 so in truth any one born after the year 1958 cannot claim to be a real cockney because no bells

I was born in hackney, but the bells were taken down long before i was born. im still a cockney though
