My family is very superstious and just wonderin if it (the white butterfly) meant anything or is it just because there has been a sudden uproar in the butterfly population. Thanx.

I think I remember hearing somewhere that if the first butterfly you saw of the year was white, you'd have good luck for the rest of the year.

Butterfly or certain insects are the intermediates between the physical world and the spiritual realm. That is if you believe in things like spirits, ghost etc. Some "soul" from the spiritual world miss the physical world OR some body and will request to be on earth. It may be a white moth, or dragonfly, not necessary a butterfly.
FYI, Black moth means one soul from the other world is awaiting for the living human on earth to be united together.
If you are some superstitious person, and not particular, you can easily find white butterfly (or other insects, abnormal size ) during the first 7 days around the house of a person who just pass away.

it doesn't mean anything to me, because I am not superstitious. My mother told me if you believe in God, you do not believe in superstition, because God controls everything. There is nothing wrong with a black cat ~~ it was BORN BLACK. If we all got seven years bad luck for breaking a mirror, ALOT OF US would be in trouble
