I don't think that people should have the right to ask fake or dumb questions just to incite riots over the subject matter and then turn around and get people booted off for THEIR OPINION! This is an open forum with willing participants and everyone involved should be mature enough to hear everyone out if they are going to participate. Agree or disagree... Discuss! And should the report button be removed as an option considering?

The right to free speech covers your right to express yourself in self-published or public media. Yahoo is a private company. Expecting them to allow anything here is like expecting Doubleday to publish your novel just because you had the right to type it out.

I agree to a certain extent. The answer has to pertain to the question, and should be done in an appropriate fashion. If the question is offensive or diry, the answer will be the same. And if the question is done with good taste, the answer should be the same. The right should be there. This is the Internet and this is 2006, people need to wake up and smell the coffee. If you don't like a question or answer, mind your own business and go your own way. Kids, they will see and read material that is inappropriate know matter where the go on the Internet. The people should not have to worry about what they put on here. If you don't want your kids seeing offensive stuff, HELLO, it is everywhere, don't let them do whatever they want, control what they view. We all have rights, and should be treated equally.

The problem is that a lot of people aren't mature enough to answer questions, but think that their "comedy" responses of "lol" and things along those lines are hilarious. The questions that get deleted, however, seem to be the ones that are just posted to incite trolling, and hence the moderators nip that in the bud.

Some people think that freedom of speech really means "free-for-all speech."

Freedom of speech doesn't mean you get to say whatever you want. That's why we don't allow folks to yell "FIRE!" in a crowded theater.

My fifth grade teacher taught us that with every right or freedom, there is a responsibility. Having the freedom of speech means that we must learn to use it responsibly.

It does NOT mean we live in a language anarchy where anything goes. That's why there are rules of conduct & member guidelines posted.

Disagree. If you did that, then every questions would have companies putting advertisements and a lot of very young children would get to learn a lot of bad language.

There are disadvantages to some censoring, but the alternative would be completely bad service.
