Yes, it is worrisome. The only things individuals can do are to express our points of view: to friends, to political representatives, writing to the letters to the editor section of your local newspapers.
Those in power are the ones who will make the decisions to change. As citizens, we can only express our views and hope we are taken seriously.
It is refreshing to read intelligent questions like yours!!

First of all hundreds are dying every day and that is tragic, but stating "millions" are dying is dramatic and something you should not say. Its just plain wrong to dramaticise the problem like that; and on terrible days like 9/11 thousands might be dying - but still not millions.
Our countries in war and you might ask yourself this question. Who is right and how do you decide who is right. Please ask yourself this critical question:
IF those opposing us stopped fighting today and laid down all their weapons and agreed never to fight us again - would we still try and kill them, would we still try to hunt them down - other then maybe Osama Bin Laden who we believe is guilty of great crimes the answer is no and you know that.
IF we, the US, stopped fighting today, withdrew all our troops, cut back our military and hoped the world would be peaceful - would it? Would there never come a day when those wolves would be at our door? I think you know the answer to that too.

Fact: "YOU" can't do diddly-squat about it. Your best bet is to stay out from under the rubble as the empire collapses. Sit back and enjoy the show. Few people have ever witnessed the final days of a civilization.

It makes me a little nervous, but I think that it is best to let the paroxysm happen. The violence built up in the world needs to be let out. There is always a period of great suffering and violence before ages of enlightenment.

I don't like wars, but they have been going on almost since the beginning of time.
They will only be stopped when Jesus returns to rule the world.
