I've never seen a werewolf repelled by sunlight, and the myth that vampires were destroyed by sunlight first appeared in the 1922 film Nosferatu.
The trouble, of course, is that there is no single authority on supernatural creatures, modern storytellers instead drawing on the vast web of mythology the cultures of the world have created in their several thousand years of existance. What's true in one culture is false in another, each myth devolping according to the enviroment and society its people lived in.
However, I believe sunlight is commanly held to dispell ghosts, some forms of deamon, and Tim Burton.

I wasn't aware that werewolves couldn't survive in sunlight. They only transform with a full moon but they are otherwise ok the rest of the month sunlight or not.
