I'm not a stoner, but I agree that its pointless for marijuana to be illegal. And a lot more people are beginning to realize this because in many states it already becoming decriminalized. It needs to become legal everywhere, that way law enforcement can focus on people selling and doing drugs that cause a lot of harm like heroin and meth. And it's true that marijuana is not any worse than cigarettes or alcohol. It's actually better because the only proven side effect is "temporary short-term memory loss" LOL. That's a lot better than getting blitzed from alcohol and passing out in an alley. Additionally, marijuana is NOT ADDICTIVE. Avid smokers are not addicted to weed, they just enjoy it so much that they choose to smoke all the time. Any person can go stop smoking weed cold turkey. That's not too common with cigarettes or alcohol, now is it???

I think you need to so some study about how marijuana hurts the human body. It is every bit as harmful as cigarettes on the lungs and destroys, over time, receptors in the brain. Alcohol, although legal, is a major cause of health, mental, social, and safety problems in this counrty. One of the main reasons marijuana and other drugs are illegal is that your government officials are making big money engaging in the drug trade. The war on drugs, like the war on illegal immigration is a farce.

Because people fear the effects of Mary Jane. Did you know that for 3 years from 1966-1969 MJ was legal after the Supreme court ruled against the MJ law of the time. What a time to have lived huh.

Because it's uncontrolable. In my opinion legalization would be one of the worst things that could happen, because then it would be a legitimate business which means rules and regulations controlling the product from start to finish. This includes controlling T.H.C. volume, price and variety... but it wouldn't work. People would still grow it because it's cheaper than paying for it and people would still go for jail for it. I think we should go for a new Ideal when it comes to Weed...Not Legalization...Not De-Criminilization....But Un-Punishable...kinda like eating a potato.

At least here in Cali it's legal if you have a permit. It's legal to smoke and grow. If you really want it legalized you look into NORML and there is many more groups that advocate.

I live in the Netherlands, marihuana is legal here but this causes all sorts of complications. People are not allowed to grow more it. Certain people ( coffeshops) are allowed to sell it but they are not allowed to posess more than 30 grams. In short, it can be sold and smoked but noone is allowed to grow or posess it...complicated huh?
