Quite the Pickle?

X, Y, and Z are friends. Things snowballed between X and Z, they took a step in a different (non fight related) direction. so X and Z have a bit of a problem. Y is going to be none to pleased to find out the events of last night. When should we tell Y and how should we break the news? Any help is greatly appreciated.

As soon as possible, and as honest as possible. Tell Y that you need to talk to them, making sure that they know it is a serious conversation. Have Y sit down and be blunt. Honesty is the best policy.

Both should tell Y together.
