OR do you think their heads will explode when the democrats take back the senate?

You have me all wrong. I am conservative, who will be voting my conscience this fall. Republicans are no longer the conservative party, my friends!

the house and the senate are the same branch of government. The legislative. The judicial branch is (supposedly) non partisan. So no party can take that one. And democrats will be back for the presidential election in 08.

Yes. In case you haven't noticed, it's fairly routine for the voters to bounce back and forth between Liberals and Conservatives.

Eisenhower to Kennedy/Johnson to Nixon/Ford to Carter to Reagan/Bush to Clinton/Rodham to Bush...etc.

The Senate & House goes the same way...too many members to name, though.

The grass is always greener, etc., etc.

I wouldn't count my chickens before they hatch. If Democrats do not start embracing platforms that appeal to larger demographic groups they are liable to lose some seats in November. While I am neither Democrat nor Republican, I am more conservative than Liberal. Too many Democrats are playing to the most fanatical elements of the left wing. Frankly this does not play well with moderates, and moderates can swing any election. You can all ignore this truism to your own Electoral peril.

Too specifically answer your question though. I for one do not fear any Congressional makeup, and I am not ashamed of any opinion I have. So I am not going anywhere.

Additional point: Just as an added point since you posted additional details. It didn't matter to me whether you were Republican or Democrat, I tried to answer your question honestly, and respectfully. Also you have to vote for who you feel will best represent your interests. I never know who that will be until I hear their platform, and that is why I don't vote in primaries, because it is never a foregone conclusion who I will vote for in any election. Thus I consider myself an Independent Conservative.

The Democrats have a very slight chance of taking back the Senate- any expert will tell you that. They have a better chances of taking back the House of Representatives.

There will be conservatives on this site after November. If we were able to take eight years of Clinton, why wouldn't we be able to take the Democrats taking back one of the three branches of government?

Thanks to the inane rantings of Howard Dean and the drop-out level education of Michael Moore, there are actually fewer and fewer liberals...according to stats not generated by "special" left-wing consultancy groups.

Unfortunately, almost no political statistics generated in the U.S. about upcoming elections are very reliable. I have to agree that there IS a HUGE leftist bias in the American media, which by the way, was pointed out in books BY liberals...not conservatives. Anyway, I believe the odds of the Senate swinging back hard to the left are pretty remote. It wouldn't be too shocking for the presidential election to go left, but even that is not a sure thing.

Bottom line: We don't get reliable information before elections, so making any real predictions is almost impossible.

We can just hope the Democrats take charge! Only a Baboon would think this administration is doing a good job for the American people as a group. They're doing a good job for themselves and big business ($$$) but not the American people. If the Republicans really cared about us, they would be spending the trillion dollars on terrorist control here on American soil.

After all, no matter what the Democrats do will be better for the American people then what's being done for us now!!

Sure, why not? I've got nothing to be afraid of except the high taxes that democrats want. Or having Hillary annoint her idiot husband to some position in the government besides missionary.

There is not a way in hell the Democrats are going to take back the Senate. It is next to impossible. Not only that but they will lose seats.
I'll give you one right now...just so I can tell you I told you so and rub it in your Democrat face:
Bill Nelson will lose in Florida.
Yeah, hey, thanks, Bill Clinton.

Well, Congress has enjoyed almost a 98% incumbency rate, despite a 28% approval rating.

Something is wrong with this math.

Probably.

There is still a long way until November and the American people are a fickle bunch....

Sure, why wouldn't they come here? We liberals aren't in power right now, but we still have a voice here.
