You are correct that the US gets itself badly entanged when failing to be entirely consistent in policies regarding national self-determination and human rights. Example: Saddam Hussein was indeed a despot, dictator, etc ... but there were and are many worse than him in Africa, by no means *only* in Islamic countries.

It does seem to matter a great deal where the evil dictator is located and what strategic resources he might be controlling. Thus, "we" end up meddling without understanding the historical realities so well. This is what wise General Washington warned later Presidents to avoid, I believe. It is better to keep building a sound structure of international law, and guarantee it militarily *only* in concert with a broad base of allies acting under UN authority, as was the case in the Balkan conflict. The problem is that "Cowboys" don't always grasp the consequences that result 10 years or 50 years, or 500 years that can lead to ruin. One *must* act within a wide vision to history in order to have a chance of choosing the most constructive action.

It behooves a "Great Power" to act carefully, with a wider vision than purely the perceived short-term national interest. To fail in this will shorten dramatically the time of holding that role of "Great Power" and no people in history have held that position for more than two or three centuries, simply because the drain on resources is unsustainable --- and is becoming moreso. What then? Perhaps the role of "Great Power" is already obsolete in the kind of world that exists now.

There are many Islamic countries in this world, and the majority do seek to act with wisdom, in a way that works to lessen conflict and resolve problems. It is the greatest mistake to be eager to bring on the Apocalypse or Yawm-id-Deen references in the Scriptures, because some tragedies cannot be undone even in many centuries.

Thank you for posing a good question!

Your premise is false. The United States does not ignore non-Islamic nations. For reference, look at our involvement in Bosnia in the 1990s. Also, the United States was not attacked by radical Jews, Christians, Buddhists, etc. on September 11, 2001. We were attacked by radical Islamic jihadists and are now targeting those regimes that support such terrorists. Of course, you already know all of this, but I thought I would point out the obvious anyway. May God bless and keep you.

As a U.S. citizen I can only think of one thing.... Money. What runs American society and government is the cash that they have and the cash they want to receive.

Example.... Iraq has oil.... U.S. needs oil..... U.S. "liberates" Iraq
Example 2.... The US has invested extensively in Israel. If Israel is in turmoil, so is the US economy. Since Islamic countries have a problem with Israel, the US will always side with Israel

Islamic countries are the focus of attention right now because they are themselves looking for trouble, inciting hate and violence rather than peace and cooperation. The extremism of their position in everything (religious or not) is definitely scary.

you must be a terrorist yourself. you keep asking the same questions defending muslims and their crazy ways. i'll copy and paste my last answer to you:

yeah because the radical muslims are the craziest ******* in the world. they're at the center of all terrorist crimes and they strap bombs to their bodies and fly planes into buildings in the name of god....killing thousands of innocent people.
they hide behind women and children...they are cowards and they are soul-sucking murders.
they should continue to keep killing themselves and the rest of the world should stay out of it.
