Business and marriage..can spouses work together respecting differences and skills?

Can husband and wife work in the same business if their personalities are in conflict and how does their business relationship influene their marriage and family?

Assuming you're talking about starting a small business together: Make really, deep-down sure that the two of you already like and respect each other and understand each other's needs. If there is any trouble or chronic conflict or resentment in your marriage, this will not work. Every hot button in a marriage (money, togetherness, "parenting" styles -- with employees) is going to come into play, so if there's an area where you don't get along now, magnify the problem by 10 and that's what you'll get in a work situation. It's probably better if one spouse runs the new business and the other goes and gets a regular job somewhere else. This will also keep money coming in while you're growing your own business.

Sure if a marriage can work then so could the business. Both can handle different aspects of their business clearing defining each others roles/departments without the other's interference. It can help the relation/bond between the two stronger.

Yes, My husband and I have Always worked together in different companies, on the same shifts mostly. Present job, 15 years and going. At work we work, leaving family life at home, mostly, at home we leave work at work, totally. Married 32 years and just as happy as first year.

WHEN THE SPOUSES WORK TOGETHER AFTER A WHOLE PROBLEMS COULD COME UP BECAUSE THEY SPEND THE DAY AT WORK AND WHEN THEY GET HOME THEY DON'T HAVE NOTHING TO TALK ABOUT AND THEN THE SPOUSES START HAVING PROBLEMS

SO IT IS A GOOD IDEA NOT TO WORK TOGETHER
