We get it. Israel withdrew from the Gaza Strip, they dismantled all military bases, destroyed all their settlements, and even declared the lines that divided Israel from Gaza as an international frontier creating the first, independent Palestinian territory. And this was suppose to be part of the solution to the unrest....then, the Palestinian militants fired rockets from Gaza into Israel targeting innocent civilians. The final straw was when Hamas attacked and killed 2 Israeli soldiers and kidnapped a third. Then Hezbollah, like Hamas, another Iranian proxy, attacked Israel killing more soldiers and kidnapping two. They began an offensive by shooting rockets into Israel. Israel gave warning that they would retaliate. These warnings were ignored and Israel was left with no other choice than to defend their country. I really don't think Israel wanted to become involved with the Gaza strip again or Lebanon. They were given no choice by Hamas or Hezbollah, they were challenged to defend their citizens and country against random and terrorist attacks. What is there about this that so many of you do not understand. (I don't believe that the people in Lebanon are paid for allowing Hezbollah to operate within their borders. I don't think Hezbollah thinks enough of the government or people of Lebanon to provide any monetary of humanitarian assistance.)

Are you serious?! This is your explantion of why Israel has to kill civilians?Who are the terrorists now. I think Israel just doesn't care. This is an ongoing battle for land ownership that goes as far back as the bible. This is not okay. It will not be resoIved without outside help. I think Bush has dementia or something because all he's doing is making the u.s a bigger target for terrorism in the future. Bush doesn't understand anything. That's why soldiers are dying in Iraq now with no agenda.

The explanation above is your own way of dehumanizing a whole group of people. Your are under the assumption that 100% of the people in Lebannon read the news, condone what is going on, and are being used as tools of Hezbollah to fight a war against Israel, a country that got $6 billion $$ from the US in mostly forgiveable debt.

Don't you get it?! You are of the kind who can give these people the fate of the American Indians, who could verbally justify 300 years of slavery, or who could jump the fense and decided that Hitler's viewpoints are okay. Exterminate everyone right?! None of them are human?! Don't you get it?! You are of the same hateful mind frame.
Kill all the women and children. 56 youth today got killed by Israeli bombs in one village. I suppose they were all in a house hiding some missiles. This is hatred of another culture, religion, and people. You express this wonderfully in your insensitive question.
Maybe it's time you read a book.

Do you get it that Israel has done much more damage, and so gets much more bad press? Do you get it that this war could un-do the peace treaties with Egypt & Jordan, by revolution maybe? Do you want to come to an enduing peace by a big war? I think the Israeli government is not concerned how much hate it is inspiring. Some official on TV said "They didn't love us before". Yup, and now they like you (Israel) even less. Do you get it that the result of convincing Hezbollah not to stir up trouble for the next year or two has already been achived (they would observe a cease fire a while, maybe even 3 years), and that the complete destruction of Hezbollah would not be achived by another 18 year occupation of Lebannon?

Both Syria and Iran support Hezbollah financially.

The people in Lebanon have been monetarily challenged for many decades.

Is it any wonder the Lebanese citizens would not support Hezbollah? Hezbollah has been in Lebanon and giving support not Israel.

Think about what you would do to feed your hungry children, provide medical help to your elders, put a roof over the heads of your brothers and sisters.

There is no argument that can justify bombing civilian houses and killing women and children. They aren't hiding atom bombs.

But, for your information, they do it for free, because the Hezbollah is the actual Government in Southern Lebanon. They pay for everything, from schools to hospitals.

And who's fault is that? Can you guess? ISRAEL!!!! They are the ones who occupied and destroyed Southern Lebanon years ago, making way for the Hezbollah lunatics to appear as "heroes".

Besides showing no consideration for human life, Israel keeps making the same stupid mistakes over and over again: every time they pull a stunt like this, their fanatic enemies earn more supporters...

It's amazing really how ignorant these people are on Yahoo Answers: Everytime I read these rants I just want to laugh really. Hezbollah goes across the border and kidnapps two Israeli solders and then Israel goes to find those kidnapped solders and then Hezbollah fires rockets at Israeli cities and then hides behind civilian population. They aren't fighting in a wide opened area where there are no civilians, they fire behind apartment complexs in their pick-up trucks and then Israel retailiates, because when you fire upon her citiies it is an ACT OF WAR. Then everyone goes on about how bad and evil Israel is for attacking the civilian Lebanese, meanwhile the civilian population allowed Hezbollah to operate there without doing anything to drive them out. If Hezbollah had the courage to fight like an honorable enemy and face Israel on the battlefield there would be no civilian causalities, but no one addresses that. No one addresses the daily killing of Israeli citizens. No that's ok with you all too. No one addresses the bombing of Israeli cities. No one addresses anything but the Lebanese civilians.

The people in Lebanon have benefited from the presence of Hezbollah, who can afford to give them money when their own government is too poor to help them. Naturally, many Lebanese are Hezbollah supporters. They are enmeshed.

They don't get paid anything. They believe in a cause and they help that cause. If you lived next to the Isrealis you would have rockets in your backyard!!

And the U.S. keep providing Israel with more bombs. Don't YOU get it? Two wrongs don't make it right. And Bush doesn't get it either.
