We always, without fail, stop to help folks on the side of the road. Where I live the weather is usually severe in one form or another, and there are great distances between towns or other means of assistance. We cannot, in good conscience, leave someone to the elements like that - it could be the difference between life and death. There may be an element of danger involved, but that risk has to be taken. We couldn't live with ourselves otherwise.

I have never pulled over when someone had car trouble. I can't do anything to help them with that. I have however pulled over at accidents and I have picked up someone walking to classes when it was snowing really bad outside and the windchill was like 20 below. Would I do it again? I might, depending on the circumstances and how many kids I had in the car at the time.

It is sad that we have to think twice before helping someone in need. But it is necessary nowadays as the criminals are cashing in from the symphathy that all of us have.
For me, I will trust my first instinct. If I feel that this person is really a person in need, I will stop to help. If not, I will call the cops to patrol that area. They can help.
It could be dangerous. Good samaritans are not hard to find, they are just too afraid of the bad consequences...

Yes I have.
I have done it any time's.
Some time's there is a older person or some one with kids or where you can see there is a problem.
I did give some one a ride in to town, owny because I knew who he was or if it is very cold out side and you know that she or he could get sick or maybe some thing bad could happen to that person, that's the owny way I do it.
If you don't know for sure, don't do it.
It is very sad now that alot of us can not help because they could very well be some one that would hurt us,sad sad, huh?
If it is in the middle of the night be very care full,if you don't know him or her and it look's like there could be some thing not right, lock your door's and keep going and call the police.
That way you will know in your heart you atleast did some thing about it and did'nt get your self hurt.
That's what I do now, always lock your door's,day or night.
It has been said, that when you go to stop at a stop sign in day time or night time now, there has been people waiting to jump in and get ya.
Some time ago, I was in by a gas station waiting for my turn to get some gas, a man came up to my car and started to hit the window's and wanting to get in my me,well he could'nt because,I had my door's lucked, goody I thought, huh?
I don't know why he did that but was very happy for me for locking the door's!
I then after he took off when in side and told the gas station man what happen and he called police.
I sure as hell was afraid of who ever he was, never will I go any where with out my door's locked now.
I told all of you this so you will remember to lock your door's,please.
Help people out but be safe at the same time,ok.
Take care.
Sharon.

I would take the chance to help someone on the side of the road because you don't know how long they've been there or what their story is

My husband does all the time ! Even when we are heading somewhere important like a Dr appointment or somthin sometimes it is annoying when he does but I know the people are very grateful when he does. Wouldnt you like it if someone stopped for you if your car broke down?

As a woman I would not do so if I were alone.
I have pulled over when with my husband and offered them to use my cell phone to call someone.
