It's rooted fairly well and I've been watering last night and this morning. I've started to spread some of the clippings back onto the lawn - because it was so short I had to bag. At least I saw my mistake before doing the back yard.

How do you cut an entire front lawn before you notice that it's too short??? LMAO
In 4 weeks it's still not rooted that well. Keep watering.... but don't soak it. Water late in the day or evening. The clippings will help retain some of the moisture...but don't spread them on so heavy that you block sunlight...that will turn the lawn a yellow color and kill the grass.

lightly cover the grass w/ either peatmoss or grass clippings - keep well watered in early mornings and a light waterting @ night. this will help th grass retain moisture around the roots.
