I do for fact-based stuff, including posting answers to the questions on Y!A.
On the other hand, some subjects require some basic understanding to be able to understand the results of a Google search. Y!A allows for interpretation and simplification of the more complex subjects.

I think they ask here because its a forum and with that said, if you choose to use the forum you need to be commited to helping others learn to use site's such as google, dogpile, northern lights, all the good search engines. Teach them the same as you had to learn, that you can download the google toolbar and learn to type in keywords like lyrics before whatever words of the song you can remember and that will guide them to lyrics sites (just an example)
Try not to be so judgmental of those that are learning to use the www. world. You started out as a newbie too!
