but for the last few days my son who has his wireless pc downstairs cannot connect to the internet. I have run a diagnostic check on mine and all the tests including wireless passes.Any ideas please?

my wireless connection has been very slow for over a week and my main computer keeps losing its signal. i am in strathclyde area.i contacted bt who gave me useless advice.
i tried all the unplugging that sometimes helps.

I got the same problem [different router]. It was sorted simply disconnecting the router from the PC then the power, wait 30 secs, then connect the router to the PC and then to the power line. And then reboot the wireless PC.

I have the same router and problems are often solved by rebooting as suggested earlier. Ensure that on your son's PC firewall settings have not been altered; if you have a third party firewall switch it off. Make sure the windows firewall is not switched on too.Try the connection. If you still cannot connect, see if the DHCP client is enabled in services.
