was more dangerous to the world than Iran.
It was reported that the majority of the people (who were against the Iraq war before it started) felt that Americas foreign policy was unintelligent and naiive. What do Americans think of this?

I'd like to see a link to the poll.

That being said, I'm not surprised. What can Iran do to the world today, versus what the United States could do if it so chose? Yes, Iran is a regional threat, a supporter of terror, and we certainly don't want to see Iran get a nuclear weapon. But US foreign policy over the last 50 yrs is largely responsible for Iran's existance. We did, after all, depose the prime minister of Iran in 1953 and impose the Shah, which then led to the Revolution in 1979 and the Iran of today. The United States is the only country with the power to do those kinds of regime changes to many countries. Therefore, we are more dangerous than any other country.

Well, that is an interesting question.

Well as an American i can tell you flat out with out a question that America is by far more dangerous than Iran. We could turn the world to ash and ruin with the flip of a switch. So yea, Iran is a school kid with a firecracker in comparison. But the major difference is as follows. We respect other nations and other cultures. Don’t belive me? Well then why is it that you’re not speaking German right now? Ich wises es nicht.
Well how about the big brother across the pond, but I digress. Why isn’t Japan and Germany state 51 and 52? Could it be that we wanted a world that was just a little better?

I would also say that Neville Chamberlain didn’t understand or support a war in Europe in the 1930s. He said “We should seek by all means in our power to avoid war, by analyzing possible causes, by trying to remove them, by discussion in a spirit of collaboration and good will. I cannot believe that such a program would be rejected by the people of this country, even if it does mean the establishment of personal contact with the dictators.” What did your countrymen have to say to that? “An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile, hoping it will eat him last.” Take a wild guess who said that.

Failure to understand the state of the world is the most typical excuse to point fingers and call names today. But your ignorance as a people can be summed up with only three words. STATE RUN MEDIA.

And last but not least laddie, The British people created most of what we see today of the middle east through colonialism. But hey you were just civilizing the savages right chappy. The Brits created Iraq and Iran as we know them today. Just like the French created the violence that led to the American fought Vietnam war.

But hey, in all fairness I love the British people. They are funny, smart and warm. I also love the French for their fine taste in food and wine. The Germans for giving me Schnitzel and Würzburger Hof Brau Beer. The people of the EU are great folks, but they are led by clowns.

Your lack of understanding and unwillingness to educate yourself is not my problem. But the global spread of such ignorance does frighten me. So be a good lad, for Queen and country and all that take it upon yourself to learn a bit more and maybe next time you will not humiliate yourself on the internet.

Thank you and goodnight.

Most American people that I have spoken with in the last six years are either so busy working 80 hours a week trying to avoid the poorhouse or completely disenchanted with the actions of the government.

Shame and embarrassment over the invasion of Lebanon is running rampant here, as most are aware that the bombs that Israel is dropping came from this country as military aid.

Once elected, these governments don't seem to want to be guided by the wishes of the people that elected them.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion.
Not all Americans agree with our Government. But thats the beauty of our political system. You can voice opposition, advance your own ideas, all with out being thrown into prison.(if done under the guidlines of the constitution) So what do I as an American think of this? Great! The more people involved in finding a solution to the issues that face us the better!

I believe your right, many people here in America also agree with you. We had a major attack on our country on 9-11 and want no more of it. If the UK does not support not having to battle terrorists in their country than so be it. America is still one of the best countries in the world to live in. You could be right, we have our faults and have the ability to hopefully correct some of them in the upcoming elections, I hope we do. But don't fault us because we have the abilities to stop things before they get here. Again.

netjr, I beg to differ. they had to put up with 'Irish Terrorists', who I might add were funded by Americans, who killed over 7000 people through bombs, shootings and general murder. If anyone knows about terrorism its the British. America IS more dangerous than Iran, and that comes from an American. The Truth is the truth.

Charlesd, you asked for a link.. here goes because I too read it.

I find many of the critics of the U.S. to be rude, arrogant, uneducated, and ignorant. People will believe what they choose but I imagine that the same forces within this country (U.S.) that attempt to sway public opinion against our policies, are also existent in the UK and elsewhere. Opinions are like certain other body parts....everybody has one. Some seem to feel that it is their role to critique every move America makes and aren't satisfied until they feel Americans feel duly repentent. If you notice they like to bait Americans with insults and when we reply with due indignation accuse us of having overinflated egos. People can criticize all they want, it will not stop me from thanking God that I live in this country.

I personally think America should slam its doors shut and close all of its windows to the rest of the world. I personally think we should go back to the way it used to be before WWII and let every country fend for itself. Just forget all of this world policy stuff. Since the world is so against the USA I personally think we should not open our doors or windows even when someone says I am your ally help us. Since all of this will not be done, tough, live with it. I am getting fed up with Americans being blamed for all of the worlds woes.

They're probably right, though the U.S. could certainly still recover from its recent problems. A LOT will depend on this November's off-year elections. I hope that you are not so focused on Bush that you're losing sight of the importance of the House of Representatives.
