In the same way that the Da Vinci code is just a work of fiction? Could someone find the Da Vinci book in thousands of years and think that this is the new Bible?

The Bible is a book that someone just wrote. I agree with this!

However, sometimes religion is good for certain people. It's best that they attend church functions rather than join gangs and sell drugs.

The Bible was written within a span of 1600 years.

There are more than 40 authors in the Bible, from Moses (who wrote the first 5 books) to Apostle John (who wrote Revelation).

Yet, all these guys wrote about the same thing! None of their words ever contradicted each other. Their message was true and still remains true even today.

Without guidance from a divine Being, what do you think are the chances of that happening?

As for the Da Vinci code, it's full of crap.

Let me know if you need proof about this.

The Da Vinci Code is actually based off of a book called
Holy Grail Holy Blood, a true story, of the investigations of the bloodline of Jesus. they actually fought over the right to write the Da Vinci Code claiming plagiarism but Dan Brown won and wrote it similar to Holy Grail. So while Da Vinci is "fiction" Holy Grail is not and provides evidence of such. As for the bible, it was not written by just one source so the likely hood is doubtful that every writer involved just happen to write the same thing just out of coincidence as the bible is a compilation of the accounts of others from different instances.....jus look it up...research.

Yeah that is an important question. It applies to all history books too: how do you know they are true? Since no one alive was there, we have to look at the various sources and authors all writing about the events, and try to make sense out of it all.

That's why the bible has several gospels: because several people all wrote about the same thing. They also didn't write the SAME things: that would have been very suspicious I think, had all 4 people written the same thing. Would seem too much like faking collusion.

The validation of the bible continues (its been going on a long time) with new sources being found, but directly related to the bible, and some indirectly by helping us understand the culture and language better.

There are a lot of historical accuracies in The Bible, but that doesn't mean it's all true. Obviously, someone (or many people) wrote The Bible, not God. Christianity has been handed down for hundreds of years and most people don't question the beliefs their parents gave them.

Because the things written have been proved to be true by more than one source not just in the saying just I believe it. One has to check it out for them selves not just accept someone else ideas. It also contains the answers to our worlds problem. There one way to put it my rights end where your nose begans.

You'd have to read the Bible in order to understand that It was written by men through God.
Read Revelation 22:18-19. It says,

"I warn everyone who hears the word of the prophecy of this book. If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him plagues described in this book. And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and the holy city which are described in this book".
So this book was written by God through man. Don't be fooled by the atheist. Learn for yourself and you decide.

Well you know what. If you really read it, that point is mute, the truth lies in the lessons of the bible. That is truly what the book is about. It is to help guide us through our lives not to dig up old cities.

Whether it is fiction or not...If by reading it and practicing what you have read makes you a happier, more fulfilled person, I guess it doesn't matter whether you find it in the fiction section of your local library, self-help section or sci-fi section. Labeling it is not that important,in my humble opinion.
