I'd still turn it in to the police.

I would probably spend a good part of that day, thinking of various, devious ways to launder all that cash and make it "legal" so that no one will suspect why all of a sudden I have a shiny new BMW parked outside my house instead of my old beat up Pick up truck. And then I would sadly walk to the nearest police station and turn in the damn money and hope that the idiot who lost it is a good looking woman who, as a reward, will invite me out to a steak restaurant for a hearty meal and may be some sex at her place. Is that too much to ask?

This is way tough to answer honestly.

My conscience would probably bother me by keeping it, but I would probably assume it would have to be drug money because nobody loses that kind of cash in a bag....so I would keep it for my children.

I wouldn't do anything with it for a couple of months.

And to try and relieve my conscience, I would also watch the newspapers/media to see if anyone tries to claim it.

Just being honest, my children could use the money.

I'd buy a house. If someone can afford to carry that much cash in a bag, they can afford to lose it. If it came from a bank....insurance helps, you know? I normally wouldn't think like this, but I've just come to the point where I would take it if I could. Being honest.

I would notify the authorities that I found some money however I would not disclose the amount. If the "rightful owner" contacted the police, or they media, they would know how much they lost and they would have to prove to me that it was there's. Type of bag it was in, denominations, new bills, etc. If, after 90 days, no one claimed it, it is MINE ALL MINE!

turn the money over to the police department, and there will probably be a reward, not alway a reward is given, but your concious will feel better, that you turn the money in, and being broke can be a momentary things, dont be depressed about that, if you put the time in, as for educational training, or another job, or be creative, create your own job, money problems can change for the better.

I'D KEEP IT............... AND SO WOOD THE COPS U ARE TURNING IT IN TO. FINDERS KEEPERS LOSERS WEEPERS

It is highly unlikely for someone to LOSE that amount of cash.
My purse MAY not always have Cash in it but i freak if i can't find it. No one one will lose that amount of cash in this or the next lifetime.

Think finder's fee. There is a reward for turning it in. This way, you've done the right thing, and you're no longer broke.
