The fact of the matter is that at the end of the day there is nothing value-added about using clichés-- with all due respect it’s not awesome, it’s annoying. One of the most annoying and consequently meaningless clichés, in my opinion of course would be, "24/7". Its overused and becomes pointless to utter when talking about certain things.

Every cloud has a silver lining.

if you think about it, you gotta wonder who came up with that, and what they were smoking, because i've never seen a silver-lined cloud. So it's basically a cliche that isn't even based on anything real.

It HAS to be: "When life hands you lemons, make lemonade."

Anyone who ever really got handed a lemon knows that lemonade's gonna be pretty damn sour unless life hands you some sugar to put in it.

I'm sorry for your loss. (Spoken without a hint of sorrow, which reveals they are not really "sorry" they are just trying to be "socially correct".)

It has become such a standard, patent reply it has lost its intended meaning.

"badaboom-badabing". Technically, I don't think it's a cliché, but boy how I hate it!
