A system's guy at work told me the name of a website - something like 'click.com' . I was hoping to get the name of this website to research how much memory to install on top of what I have already installed. Then I plan to go to a computer store & buy what I need. As for reinstalling windows, I would do that as a last resort,

You can get memory upgrades lots of places... most stores which supply them can also tell you what kind you need, and fit them too. (Office supply stores, computer and electronics stores, etc.)
Or, check Compaq's own site, figure out what you need, and do some comparison shopping

There is no site that will magically tell you what you need to upgrade for your computer, how will a website know what you need? If you're looking for something cheap, then try reinstalling windows. You get rid of all your unneeded files, all the junk programs bogging down your registry, and your computer will be as fast as the day you first took it out of the box. It's completely free to do that, and you will see a HUGE performance boost.

There are a lot of different upgrades. I presume you are talking about your hardware drivers and updating your OS software? Each of the different hardware drivers have to be upgraded individually at each of the manufacturers web sites. If you are using Windows XP got to the Microsoft website to update your OS software. http://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/

If you want to upgrade your memory that's a different ball game. Contact me if you need further help.

if u have windows Xp operating system, then go to control panel, in that there is an icon called Automatic updates, enter it & then select the option called notify me but don't download or install it.
this means that windows will take automatically info which driver the update is needed & it will ask u whether u what to update or not.
