Siliconbits has the right answer, but I want to add an
interesting website that might shed more light:
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/themxmaster/kvcdbasics.htm
MXDomain provides methods for backing up DVDs to CDs.
Remember that any procedure which compresses
a DVD to a CD, the CD's image/sound will not be as good.
Plus backing up DVD to CD is a lot of work and very time consuming.
Personnelly I don't think it is worth it, but then my PCs have DVD burners.
So maybe you should get a DVD burner and save all the hassle.
Rip/burn DVDs has become very easy now days.
Putting long movies on CDs is not longer in style.
Good Luck,

A movie is like a file. It will burn to a CD or to a DVD depending on whether you put a blank CD in a CD writer or a DVD writer. Your question is slightly confusing as well. FYI, you can burn both blank CD and blank DVDs in your DVD writer. You DO not need any special DVD burner. Free software like Deepburner and CDBUrnerXP is available for you to try and burn,

depends on the size of the file..if it exceeds 700 MB then you should burn it on a DVD meaning you have to have a DVD burner while if it's size is below 700mb you can just burn it in a cd with a cd burner

depends on it's size: if it's larger then 700 Mb, you will need a DVD burner. Apart from that, your DVD player connected to your TV might not recognize the movie as something it can play. If that happens, you will need to convert the downloaded movie to a format your DVD player can understand. Look in the manual of your DVD player to see which formats it can play (like AVI, JPEG, DIVX).

Depends on the size and the format of the movie you downloaded.
If it is .avi format that is less than 700mb, you can put it on a regular CD. If it is larger than 700mb, you will need a DVD burner and a DVD.

Try to put it in a CD, if it don't work you can start thinking about the burner, just go for it and see what it does.

if its under 700mb why not .... there are many "divx certified" dvd players now that will play xvid and divx encoded avi files on a cd without reencoding them to dvd ... also you can put 5 or 6 of those avis' onto a dvd and they will play in the players also. if you are more specific about the file we could give you a better answer .. or check out videohelp.com .....

it depends on the movie sizes. if the movie you download is over 700 MB, so you do need a dvd-recorder. other wise, you can burn it into your cd.
