AWWWW.....congratulations on the baby girl....What's her name? And yes, babies are always hungry it seems within the first couple of weeks, that is if they aren't sleeping. remember that infants don't know how to over-eat when they are born, that is something they are taught!!! When they cry, it is for a reason.... and hunger is right on the top of the list. Feed her as often as she needs....i breast fed my little girl and she insisted on eating every hour and a half to two hours. sometimes formula fed babies will go a bit longer in between feeding, but every baby is different. just enjoy your little one now, because they grow up so fast.....mine baby girl is 6 going on 20!!!!!

It's very normal for a newborn to need to nurse ALL THE TIME. Newborns should be nursed at least 8-12 times a day. They typically want to feed about every two hours. This is normal as breastmilk digests in about 90 minutes. Also, they are trying to bring in your milk supply. AND they are trying to gain a lot of weight fast. Imagine if you needed to double your weight in 6 months...you'd be eating all the time!
Good resources for help or information below.....

Congratulations. Your breastmilk gives your baby everything she needs. The amount she feeds actually regulates the fat content of your milk, to ensure she gets what she needs. Trust her to eat what she needs. Babies who are fed on demand are living the life they were meant to live.
If you're talking cow milk = yikes, is she still young enough for you to re-lactate?

Yup. Babies eat and eat. Are you breastfeeding? if you are they need to nurse all the time to increase your milk as they grow.
Congrats on the baby
