There is no rational use of nuclear weapons. Never has been, never will be. The very existence of these weapons is madness personified. Unfortunately, they are a reality, and no country with nuclear capability is going to willingly give up that advantage. Let's just hope that the world never again has to know the terrible cost of using them. Unfortunately, I fear they will be used again, and probably in the not too distant future.

False. If used properly, nuclear weapons only destroy what's in their blast radius, and cause radiation damage around that.
True. If enough nuclear weapons are used, they could irradiate all the habitable land areas ("life on earth"). Whether that is a "proper" use or not I'll leave to others to decide.

Almost true.
If you added up all the warheads you would have enough to destroy all life above the ocean.
The deep ocean and the life on the bottom would survive.
Trivia:
1 B-52 bomber's nuclear payload has more explosive force than ALL of the bombs dropped in WWII worlwide!!!

True, they could destroy the world which is why they have only been used twice and the ones used were not nearly as powerful as the ones they have now. The proper use is not to use them.

At the moment, nukes show whos kinda powerful and stuff. i don't think that the US would use them unless there was a huge need for them. but with all the nukes the US has, all life on earth could cease to exist...

True, but it would take many nuclear bombs and if the explosions didn't kill everything the radiation would.

thats one of the scariest possibilities in the world today in my opinion....just in the U.S. alone we theoretically have enough nukes to destroy the world about 21 times...i think that is mankind's most horrible creation.
