There's more to web sites than just getting them on search engines. It would be helpful if you posted a link to the web site so people could see it.
I'd say the most important thing you should do is be sure your web site has more than just basic information. People need a reason to actually go to it. Post lots of content. Lots of information. Be sure it has features that people will actually seek out.
Also, think to yourself, if I were just a normal guy with no connection to this business, would *I* visit this web site? I don't know what business you have, but most small businesses have pretty lame sites with almost no real useful information. Too many businesses just use it as an advertising billboard.
I don't know what type of business you have, but let's say, for example, you have a small restaurant. If you just list your restaurant name, address, and phone number people won't bother going to your site.
If you list menus, specific prices, discount coupons, pictures of your dining area, restaurant reviews, etc. people will actually come to the site. Why? Some will want coupons. Some will research it and, in a search engine, there's lots of possible conent to come up.
Can you post a link to the web site (or e-ail it to me) so I can give you more honest feedback? I hope this helps a little. Good luck with your business.

1) Hire a SEO (search engine optimization, also known as internet marketing) firm to optimize your website for search engines.
2) Sign up for Google AdWords and pay per click to be at the top of the search engines.
3) Give people a reason to visit your website, make it look good, put up interesting content relevant to your industry.
4) give us a link so we can give you more pointed advice.

You should try using key words where you think people would be intrested in or words that would attract people to your website. This way it would come up in major search engines by the word of what they are interested in.

Post a link. People need to look it over before they can make suggestions.
