No...sadly it became nothing like it was originally....great music, good dance routines...(Pan's People) and naff DJ's. Used to be an institution in our house...everything stopped for TOTP and we never missed it on Christmas Day and Boxing Day....sadly it just went down the pan, but we will be watching the last one tonight...

I would have liked it to stay but think that is for sentimental reasons. I have not sat and watched a show for years.
Think the viewing figures are the thing they go on, no viewers it gets axed.
Mind you plenty of things get axed and come back like Dr Who and Star Trek.

They have announced on the TV tonight there will still be a Christmas Top of the Pops.

I loved TOTP in the 80s, but now I have over 30 music channels to choose from TOTP is outdated now compared to MTV, The Box, Kiss ect.

I think because now young people have MTV and the like, ratings went down, and they must have thought that it was not worth it anymore. When i was young, I couldn't wait for Thursday night at 7.30pm to watch TOTP - I used to tape all my favs and keep them on video and watch them over and over - it was a different era, but a great one

don't think so. not with as many music channels as we have now. It's really not worth it. add to that the other other music channels like VH1, The Box and MTV show better music, videos and such, TOTP is like a dinosaur compared to those channels....

I used to love it, watch it avidly, wait for new videos and new releases, but with internet and MTV etc, its pointless, the so called 'new' songs have usually been on my comp/i pod for weeks before they run them on TOTP...

so no, unless they seriously update it, i prefer the old ones now on TOTP2
