According to international war crime laws, a country (in this case Israel) has the right to return fire to any area where militray fire is comming from. It's sad, but Hezbollah is firing from within civilian homes. They are hiding behind womens skirts and endangering innocent civilians. Maybe now Lebanon is regreting that they didn't disarm Hezbollah as they were instructed to do in accordance to the UN Resolution 1559 signed on September 2, 2004.
I live in a Muslim country, and am married to a Muslim, so I know very well how Muslims feel on this subject, and how they feel about Israel. But those very feelings go against the very teachings about the Islamic faith. And the Muslims are not even fighting according to their own Laws of War given to them in their religion.
And, forgive me because I forgot his name, but the leader of Hezbollah has stated many times that they will not rest, will not stop fighting, until Isreal is driven into the Sea and no longer exists. Does THAT make any sense?
Don't get me wrong, I feel bad for both sides. BOTH sides. But I think it is unfair to state only one fact in order to make only one side look bad.

you tell me if it makes sense.. this did not have to happen. there was a peace treaty, hezbollah thought they did not have to abide by it, just take the territory that was given up by the israelies so palestinians would know that israel meant that they were being truthful in their quest for peace. israelie soldiers and civilians were kindnapped in israel, are probably already dead, we already know at least one civilian is, so israel has been shown now that no matter what they do, what they sign, what they give up will not stop terrorism. lebanon supports these terrorists, hides them, and you have the gall to ask who is the terrorist, and if it makes any sense. anyone can carry a white flag. why would israel trust anyone now? terrorists sign a peace treaty and then lob missiles into the country it signed the peace treaty with. maybe you are on the wrong side of the fence.

Every one knows that Israel is the most cruel of states and the arch terrorist state of the Middle East.
However Muslims have been their own worst enemies by bombing innocent people in the West and so turning friends into foes.
Muslims are also disliked and feared because of the primitive and cruel nature of their religion, to which ALL adhere without any independent thought.
Sorry to have to tell you all this, but on the whole I am on your side.

It's called war. And like all wars, civilian casualties occur. It's tragic, but that's the price of war.
600 Lebanese civilians dead, mostly because Hezbollah refuses to allow the to flee the war zone so that Hezbollah can use them as human shields. Remember that Israel started announcing where it was going to attack Hezbollah targets, so that the civilians could get out of the fighting zone. Hezbollah refused to allow them to leave.
600 Lebanese civilians dead. Compared to thousands of Israeli, including children, dead over the years from Hezbollah attacks. Suicide bombers. Car bombs. Rockets. And Hezbollah has vowed to continue until it has wiped Israel off the face of the map.
600 Lebanese civilians dead. Compared to tens of thousands of Iraqi civilians dead during the US invasion of Iraq.
Israel is the only party fighting in any of these battles purely in self-defense. They are attacking Hezbollah targets, who hide among Lebanese civilians. They are attacking Hezbollah because Hezbollah has said they intend to wipe Israel off the face of the map. They are attacking Hezbollah now because every time in the past Israel has agreed to a cease fire, Hezbollah has just come back and attacked Israel again and again and again.
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over again and again, yet expecting different results. Israel keeps agreeing to cease fires, and Hezbollah keeps coming back and attacking them again. It would be insane for Israel to stop defending itself.
War is tragic. Civilian casualties are inevitable and that's the worst part of the tragedy. But Israel must defend itself against a hostile force who has been bombing its cities and towns every day and every week and every month for decades.
Israel didn't start this war. But for their own survival, they need to finish it.

Terrorists glory in the death of innocents.
Defenders feel and show remorse for the death of bystanders and innocents.
Anybody in those areas hit had more than a week to leave. they were either Hezbollah collaborators or elde held forcibly by Hezbollah as human shields. A typical terrorist tactic.
Terrorists are always cowards, hiding among the non combatants.
I hope this helps.

Terror is the Israeli way of life. From the Stern Gang to Olmert, it is the one constant to their culture. The world knows; international diplomats declare them war criminals; but under the umbrella of the U.S., they are untouchable and immune from the normal societal constraints that govern other countries.
