Well, in the small southern city that I live in, a paramedic assigned to a shift truck (24 hours on, 48 hours off) makes $10.00/hr plus overtime. A paramedic assigned to a daytruck (9am to 5pm M-F) makes $14.50 an hour (but they don't get overtime). An EMT-Basic makes $8.00 a hour. The pay at this company is kind of low, most paramedics make an average of $15.00/hr. It really depends on the city or state that you work for.

Depends on what company you work for and each state varies..I would check into your local ambulatory services or hospital and apply for a paramedic position..
